"It's going pretty good so far," Johnson said. "We are 6-1 right now. I don't know what we are rated, but last week we were No. 11, but since we beat Independence 75-0 I think we would jump back into the top 10. I got pulled early, but I went back in on goal line to keep the shut outs."
Johnson has only taken one official visit, he's taken a couple of unofficial visits, and he is looking and deciding on the remaining teams that he will take a look at. Nebraska appears to be in-line to host Johnson after hosting him before the season started.
"I took one to Oklahoma. I don't know where I will take my other visits. I am going to go to a Florida school, either Miami or Florida, I am going go to a Mississippi school, either Mississippi State or Ole Miss, and go to Nebraska."
Johnson had a good visit to Norman. It happened to be a tough weekend for the Sooners because of the loss, but Johnson said that didn't take away anything from the weekend overall.
"My visit to Oklahoma went real good. I liked everything there. I liked the atmosphere there even though they lost that game. That was a good game."
There were some rumors floating around that Johnson had not only eliminated some schools, but eliminated some conferences entirely. He says that isn't true and that he hasn't eliminated anyone. Nebraska was one of the schools that supposedly was eliminated, but Johnson said Nebraska was just in Hutchinson to see him.
"No, I haven't eliminated anybody. I am still going through the process. Coach John Papuchis came here to see my last Friday the day before my game. We had a walk-through that day.
"It showed me a lot that they came down to see me on their off week. They made it pretty clear that they want me pretty bad and need some junior college help on the line. They were recruiting two junior college defensive tackles and now they are just recruiting one."
