Hannon enjoys official to Lincoln

It was a good night for Nebraska and their official visitors. The Nebraska staff hosted a double-digit number of visitors including a number of Nebraska commits. Zach Hannon was in attendance and says that the game day environment still gets to him in Lincoln.

Zach Hannon has seen Nebraska before. The Husker commitment from Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst was in Lincoln on his official visit this time. Hannon has been to Lincoln so many times he could almost give the tour.

"I have been asleep," Hannon said while laughing. "I just got home. We left Lincoln this morning around 9:00 or so. This was my sixth trip to Lincoln I believe."

The game on Saturday night was big for Nebraska and their recruits. The atmosphere is a huge selling point for the Nebraska and last night was the second largest crowd in Nebraska history.

"Oh man, it was a great environment last night for the game against Michigan. The whole atmosphere really reiterated to me why wanted to commit to Nebraska in the first place. They played a great game against Michigan."

Hannon was watching the offense and in particular the offensive line last night. He says that the style and what Nebraska asks their offensive line to do really fits his style and strengths.

"Definitely. They pull their offensive guards a lot and that's what I like to do. I can really see myself fitting in well in the offense that Nebraska wants to run."

While seeing Lincoln and a home game at Nebraska is a bit old hat for Hannon he says that there is something about Lincoln you can never get used to. Hannon also said that the opportunity to talk to the other recruits was big about the weekend.

"You never get used to walking out onto that field with a sell out crowd. The atmosphere is just crazy. I also enjoyed just having the chance to interact with the other recruits."

Hannon spent a lot of time with the other recruits. There was a chance to talk to a future team mate and also working on trying to get a couple of the uncommitted players that were in town to join him on the commitment list.

"I think that they all loved it. I hung out the most with Priest Willis, Jamone Boyd, Jonathan Cook and Aaron Cochran a little bit. I think that they all had a a great time on their visit."

Hannon spent a lot of time with a former high school team mate too. Michael Rose was in Nebraska's 2012 recruiting class. Hannon said that his old team mate was his host.

"Mike was my host actually. He was telling me everything about Lincoln and that it's all the real deal. He loves it there. He's doing really well in school too."

There are still some opportunities to get back to Lincoln this fall to see the Huskers in action. Whether or not Hannon can get back for another game will really depend on the success that Rockhurst has trying to win a state title.

"I am going to try and get back up to Lincoln for another one of their home games. We just started the playoffs last week and are doing well."
