Cochran rates Nebraska visit a "10"!

There were a couple of visitors for Nebraska this past weekend that were later than others getting out of Lincoln. Aaron Cochran was one of those recruits who actually had to catch an early flight this morning to get back home.

It's been a long day for Aaron Cochran already on top of a fairly long weekend. Cochran, a 6-foot-8 and 350-pound offensive tackle from Atwater (Calif.) Buhach County, was just getting back home this morning after his official visit to Nebraska this weekend.

"I am just about home," Cochran said. "I had to get up at 4:00 this morning to catch our flight out."

The early flight today and the long day already didn't take anything away from the weekend. Cochran, who was accompanied to Nebraska by his mother, really liked the game day atmosphere are Nebraska. He was surprised by all of the people who already knew who he was.

"The visit was great. I really liked the fan base and the game atmosphere at Nebraska. At the tunnel walk all of the fans were yelling our (the recruits) names. I couldn't believe that they knew who I was."

Away from the football field Cochran says the success that Nebraska has had with their athletes in the classroom was impressive and one of the things that impressed him the most about the trip. He also like the layout of the campus and how everything was close together.

"I would say the number of academic All-Americans was the most surprising to me. Nebraska leads all other schools in the number of academic All-Americans they produce. That is a great thing about the school. I also liked how all of the facilities are really close together on the campus. I am looking for that in a school."

The visit got a perfect rating from Cochran. He says that he appreciated the fact that the Nebraska coaching staff did not try and pressure him into making a decision. He did say that for a 6-foot-8 guy that the travel to and from California was a little difficult on the planes and he jokingly hoped that was something the NCAA could look into.

"I would give it a "10". The visit was perfect. The coaches are really down to Earth. There was no pressure and nothing to sell. Nebraska sold itself. I appreciate that about the staff. There wasn't anything to see through.

"I really don't have any complaints about the weather or anything. I thought that the weekend was great. If anything I wished that there was more leg room on my flight. That is something that the NCAA needs to look into."

"Nebraska is definitely up there. I don't have any of the schools that I am still considered ranked or anything. They have set a very high standard for the rest of my trips."
