#1 – MLB: Max Bullough (6-foot-3, 252-pounds, Jr.)
Bullough continues to have another big year as the heart and soul of the Spartans defense. Not only does Bullough bring great physical skill he's also got a great football IQ having grown up in a football family. Grandfathers Hank Bullough (Michigan State) and Jim Morse (Notre Dame) started the football bloodlines that flow in this family and will be continued in the coming years with two younger brothers following in the family tradition.
#2 – DE: William Gholston (6-foot-7, 278-pounds, Jr.)
Some have been hard on Gholston this season as many expected the junior to have a big season before heading off to the NFL Draft. However, coming off what may have been his best game of the season against Wisconsin moves Gholston up on our list of players to watch. With his long physical built look to Gholston to get his hands up in the passing lane (5 pass break ups) and come off the edge with pressure (9.5 tackles for loss).
#3 – Denicos Allen (5-foot-11, 225-pounds, Jr.)
Allen is another top level linebacker for the Spartans and is right behind Bullough with 61 total tackles on the year. While some look at his physical height questioning his ability, Allen is relentless in pursuit and has a knack of getting in the backfield (8 tackles for loss).
#4 – Johnny Adams (5-foot-11, 177-pounds, Sr.)
Coming into the season Adams was considered one of the top corners in the country and a possible high draft pick. However, some have made the decision to go after Adams this season and while he's not posting the numbers some expected he's still one of the top cover corners in the Big Ten.
#5 – Taiwan Jones (6-foot-3, 230-pounds, So. )
Jones entered the season as a back-up and has pushed senior captain Chris Norman to reps. While it's possible Norman could get the starting call don't be surprised when you see the lanky outside linebacker.
