This past Saturday the 6-foot-5, 190-pound Kief visited Michigan.
"The trip was nice," said Kief. "I got to see basically everything like the field and facilities and like the Big House a lot. The atmosphere was also great."
While the Wolverines have yet to offer, Kief says there is open communication.
"They are not saying a lot," said Kief. "We've been keeping in contact a lot and it seems like they like me a lot."
Coming off a junior season that saw him pull down 65 balls for 907 yards and nine touchdowns, Kief feels his game has a combination of speed and size.
"I ran a 4.5 forty at Ohio State camp last summer," said Kief. "And I have great size."
With Michigan linebackers coach Mark Smith heading up his recruitment, Kief knows what an offer from the Wolverines would mean.
"It would mean a lot if Michigan offered me," said Kief. "It would be up there at the top of my board but I wouldn't commit right away. But they would be up there."
With his season over Kief has plans for the next two weekends.
