Laster To Visit Penn State

A fine senior season, combined with excellent measurables, has De'Niro Laster seeing his recruiting stock rising in the past month. On tap next for this versatile athlete is a trip to visit Penn State.

Cleveland Heights two-way athlete De'Niro Laster has always been a prospects of note in the 2013 class in Ohio, as college recruiters have been intrigued by the size and speed combination.

Until recently, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound, Laster has been considered more of a combine warrior than football player, but his senior season saw that stereotype end. His recruitment has picked up dramatically since his senior film has been released, and Laster has a big visit on tap this coming weekend.

"I will be going to Penn State this weekend, and I'm really pumped up for it," Laster stated. "I spoke to them last week and they really want me to come to campus, to see what they're all about. They're recruiting me as an athlete, but probably more of an outside linebacker. I could also play receiver or tight end for them."

"I love the way they have responded to adversity this year, especially when people all said they were going to be terrible," he added. "They are proving everyone wrong, and doing it with class. They play hard every week, and when I watch them, it seems like they are playing for something bigger than themselves. My father is going to take me, and if they offer me, they would shoot up very high for me."

"I want to take all five of my officials, and if Penn State offers, I will definitely take one there," Laster continued. "I have two officials set up right now, to Minnesota and Buffalo, but those are the only two for sure. I'm also considering taking official visits to Louisville, Purdue and Georgia Tech."

Laster currently holds offers from the likes of Cincinnati, Minnesota and Kansas, as well as most of the MAC schools.
