Wilson hoping recruitment picks up

Culver City (Calif.) wide out Julius Wilson is one of the elite players out west but his recruitment hasn't taken off as expected.

Julius Wilson has had a solid senior season showing his ability as an all-purpose threat. He has rushed 34 times for 214 yards and five touchdowns, caught 39 balls for 573 yards and four scores and returned three punts for touchdowns as well.

Early on in the process, Wilson was hearing from schools all over the region but academic concerns have scared away a lot of colleges.

"Things have been a little quiet," Wilson said. "I'm still hearing a little from a few schools and I want to set up some visits once our season is over. San Diego State is recruiting me the hardest and I'm hearing a little from UCLA too.

"That's pretty much it right now. Both are good schools, close to home but right now, I'm just trying to focus on my team. We have a big playoff game with Lompc this weekend so hopefully we keep rolling. Once our season is over, I'll change my focus to recruiting and hopefully get some things going."
