UCLA Impressed Elder

Cornelius Elder did not know what to expect out in California, but he is happy he took the trip to UCLA, and the Bruins are in the running for this four-star running back.

"I had heard it was nice out at UCLA and I had heard about how things looked, but I had never been there, so I did not know what to look for or to expect," Cornelius Elder told Scout.

"It was my first time out there and it was great. I loved the weather, I thought it was beautiful out there, and it was just a great trip. I had a great time."

The Bruins had a lot to show this star out of Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth and he seemed to like all that he was able to take in.

"I loved the campus and that is probably what stood out to me the most while I was there. I liked the set up, everything was nice, and it was all great. I also liked the academics there because it is a great academic school. The coaches are too and I had fun hanging out with them."

The main coach that recruits Elder for UCLA is Noel Mazzone and they had plenty of time together on this trip, but the head coach delivered a big message to the Bruin target as well.

"Coach [Jim] Mora has really got them playing well this year. Nobody thought UCLA would be this good, so he is doing a great job.

"He told me that they really want me there and that I can really do some good things for them. I really liked what he had to say to me and I like what he is doing with the team on the field too."

The Scout300 prospect got to watch the Bruins defeat their rival USC Saturday and he loved it.

"It was great being there for a game lie that," he said. "It was very exciting, the crowd was great, and I liked how the coaches had the team prepared."

Elder still does not have a list of favorites yet, but UCLA is definitely in a favorable spot after this visit.

"Nothing is official for me, but UCLA is pretty high now. I know that for sure. I know I will visit Ole Miss and Ohio State officially, but after that, I am not sure.

"I am just going to take it day by day and go from there."

Elder will lead Ensworth into action Thursday November 29 against Memphis University.
