Nebraska commit takes in Iron Bowl

Since Nebraska has received the verbal commitment from Jonathan Cook the Husker staff has been working overtime to keep it. Cook has received recruiting interest from the two, big in-state schools as well as other schools around the country.

Jonathan Cook from Spanish Fort (Ala.) has been a Nebraska commitment since early August. Cook committed to Nebraska sight unseen and then visited Lincoln in October. Cook took a recent visit to see a couple of in-state schools play in a huge rivalry game.

"Yes sir I did take a visit," Cook said. "I was at the Iron Bowl this weekend. It was a good atmosphere and a good experience."

Cook has never minced his words. He says that his commitment to Nebraska is verbal and that he would continue to listen to other schools particularly the two in-state schools. Cook says that both are still considering offering him.

"I am still being recruited by both Auburn and Alabama. Both of the programs are still talking to me about possibly offering."

While Cook continues to listen he also says that he is committed to Nebraska. He took a visit to Nebraska at the end of October and says that he will be a perfect fit for the school and the team.

"I am still committed to Nebraska. I took my official visit to Nebraska and I really enjoyed the trip. They are having a good season, I can see myself fitting in there and they might make it to the Rose Bowl."

Cook says that Nebraska will be in-home with him after the Big Ten conference championship game. He says that a date hasn't been set up yet for their in-home visit.
