Four-star junior college tight end Beau Sandland (LA Pierce) is currently sitting on a top five, with a plan to narrow his list to three sometime next week.
"I thought it was a great. When I was in Lincoln a while ago on my official, Coach Pelini told me that the first stop he was going to make was to see me, saying he would be there 'the first day he could.' Just 48 hours after they get done playing in the Big Ten Championship, he was out there, which was really nice," said Sandland, who was also visited by Coach Marrow. "It was the first time I have seen them since my official, so it was good to really catch up."
Sandland said he doesn't know when Nebraska might stop by again for another home visit, but says it's a possibility.
"We haven't really set up anything, but maybe. I will be narrowing it down to three sometime next week and I will be taking my mom to those three places and checking them out," said the California junior college product.
Currently besides Nebraska, Miami, Texas Tech, Arizona State, and Oklahoma are battling for his services. With a plan to graduate this month and enroll in January, the next few weeks should be a busy one for Sandland.
"Things that are going to factor in my decision on a school are the position coach, the type of offense, and the chance to play right away," he told FOX Sports NEXT last week in an interview. "Also, I want to feel comfortable there, somewhere I can see myself living the next few years, and wherever can help me get to the NFL."
Sandland visited Nebraska during "Big Red Weekend," and walked away impressed, saying at the time he would be back.
"I will definitely be returning here, and bringing my mom back, hopefully go to a game," said Sandland in June. "I hope to come out here even before that, but we will see what happens."
A game didn't happen, but a return visit is possible. Sandland was joined on the visit by his mother and grandmother, who also were impressed.
