Nebraska will host Notre Dame Prep standout

Nebraska will host another major prospect on January 4th through the 6th.

After landing international star Tai Webster earlier in the week, the Nebraska basketball recruiting news hasn't stopped, with Big Red Report learning the Huskers will host another major 2013 prospect on campus in the coming weeks.

Matthew Atewe, a 6-foot-9, 230 pound prospect, will be in Lincoln on January 4th through the 6th. Atewe, who is Canadian, is currently playing for Notre Dame Prep (Massachusetts).

"I want to visit because of the coaches, the fans, and because of the direction of the program," said Atewe. "They are getting quality wins and I think it's something I could be a part of."

Atewe already took an official visit to Kansas State and Auburn, and says Georgia Tech, Miami, Houston, and others are recruiting him heavily as well.

"I will make a better judgement of where Nebraska stacks up after I visit, but I really like them," said Atewe.

The big-man will factor many things into his decision down the road – including how he fits with the coaches.

"What opportunity I get as a player, playing time, and style of play will also be factors," said Atewe.
