"I just got back from Washington State," Peko said. "I had a really good time. I thought that their program was awesome. I enjoyed it a lot. It's a really small area, everyone knows everyone, and everyone is super into the town. They are all supportive."
Next weekend the 6-foot-2 and 295-pound defensive tackle will be taking a visit to see Boise State next weekend. He is going into next weekend with the same approach he's taken with other trips with the exception that he has really only spoken with one of the coaches at Boise State in the past.
"I am just going in to really meet all of the coaches and the players. I haven't really spoken with anyone besides my recruiting coach from Boise State. I want to see how the players are, how the players get along with the coaches and the players get along with each other."
It's cram time. Peko is taking trips every weekend and he's hosting schools throughout the week as well as talking to schools on the phone. Peko says that this is the tough part of the process.
"It's getting tough. I wish that I could go to all of them. I am just trying to get a feel for the players, what their program is and the future of the program. I saw coaches from Nebraska, Utah, Michigan State, Washington State and Boise State last week."
Nebraska was one of the schools that came in last week to see Peko. He's seen Lincoln and he's already met all of the staff. So as he was hosting the coach from Nebraska it was a time to talk business and how he fit in defensively with what Nebraska wants to do on the football field.
"Coach Rick Kaczenski came in last week to talk to me at school," Peko said. "I think that he was here on Wednesday. We talked about how they can see me coming in and playing right away. They said that my skill set really fits in with what they want to do defensively."
There is one team making a late push for Peko, but he says that things have changed a lot lately for that program. Cal is trying to get Peko's attention with a new head coach and he's not sure what is going on with their program.
"California has been making a late push for me, but they just got a new head coach," Peko said. "So I don't know what to think about that anymore."
