NU Bowl Practice Impressions

Several of Chicago's top junior prospects made the trip to Evanston for Saturday's bowl practice. Find out what they had to say about the trip and impressions.

Several of Chicagoland's top juniors came out to Northwestern Saturday bowl practice to check out the Wildcats.

Bolingbrook defensive back Parrker Westphal was one of the prospects on hand and reflected on the day in Evanston.

"It was a good visit," Westphal said. "I was able to sit in with Coach Brown the defensive back coach during position meetings, plus I got to speak with Coach Pat Fitzgerald for a while."

He continued, "He is a very enthusiastic person."

Fitzgerald had more to say to the recruits in attendance. "He went over the educational resources and future opportunities that Northwestern has to offer," Westphal said. "As well as the expectations that they have of their players."

Another prospect that was on hand was Marist High tight end Nic Weishar.

"I loved the intensity of the coaching staff," Weishar said. "And how everything that they do is up tempo."

Also in attendance was Wheaton North quarterback Clayton Thorson.
