Hunt sets announcement date

Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake defensive back Dashon Hunt has narrowed his choices down to three and set his announcement date for later this month.

Dashon Hunt is a talented defensive back and has been one of the state's top players the past two seasons. He's an explosive running back but will play corner in college and has three schools on his short list.

"I'm looking at Boise State, Nebraska and Oregon State," Hunt said. "I took official visits to all three schools and I liked them all a lot. They were different but all good and I think I have a good idea what I want to do.

"I'm still thinking it over but I'm planning to announce December 30 at the Offense-Defense Bowl. The game is going to be televised at 7:00 Central time on CSN so it should be a fun experience and I'm looking forward to getting out there for it."

Hunt visited Nebraska back in September and took November visits to Oregon State and Boise State. Although not willing to name a leader, the Beavers seem to be in a good position.

"I really liked it at Oregon State a lot," Hunt said. "It's closer to home and I have a good relationship with Coach Perry and the rest of the staff. They're all good schools though, I know I can't make a bad decision and I'm excited for the opportunity to announce it in a few weeks."
