"We're going to see as many places as possible so he'll be comfortable with his decision because he's the one who has to spend the next four to five years there," said Paul Brumfield, father of the nation's fifth-ranked 2014 offensive guard.
"He'll go to LSU's junior day, of course, and we'll try to get out to Texas A&M, which offered last week. He's never been to Texas A&M."
Is a return trip to the Sunshine State in the cards?
"There's nothing concrete planned after A&M," dad said. "We're going to take a ride out there (to College Station) this spring for junior day.
University almost reached the state finals, coming up just short in a 52-45 loss to Evangel Christian in the semis.
The Cubs relied on a ferocious ground attack paced by Brumfield and 2015 running back Nicholas Brossette.
"It was a great year," dad said. "I wish we could have gone farther but it was, by far, a better year than Garrett even expected.
"He took on more of a leadership role. He and Nick were always talking and communicating, and 80% of Nick's carries came to Garrett's side."
