Huskers land Florida DT

It didn't take long for Nebraska to seal the deal with Kevin Maurice. Nebraska offered the Orlando (Flor.) Freedom defensive tackle yesterday and got his commitment tonight on an in-home visit.

The Nebraska staff is putting in some work on the road just after their bowl game. The Nebraska staff was in-home with Kevin Maurice just a day after offering and accepted his commitment.

"Yes I committed to Nebraska tonight," Maurice reported. "Nebraska is everything that I want in a school. I will take my official visit there next week."

Maurice is a 6-foot-3 and 280-pound defensive tackle who claims a 5.2/40. Some might wonder how Maurice could commit sight unseen but Maurice says he's really focusing on the student-athlete aspect.

"Nebraska graduates 96% of their athletes and their team GPA was 3.0. Nebraska has one of the best winning percentages in the country and I know I have a great opportunity to come in and play."
