Nebraska has picked up their second, high school defensive tackle commitment in the past 48 hours after their only official visitor on the weekend jumped into the 2013 class. Maliek Collins from Kansas City (Mo.) Center is the latest Husker.

The Nebraska staff is going from zero defensive tackle commitments in the 2012-13 class to two in just 48 hours. The Huskers picked up a verbal commitment from Kevin Maurice on Friday from Orlando (Flor.) Freedom and received their second today.

Maliek Collins, the only official visitor in Lincoln this weekend, has committed to Bo Pelini and his staff per a source. Collins is a 6-foot-2 and 285-pound defensive tackle from Kansas City (Mo.) Center High School.

Collins chose Nebraska over offers from Missouri, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Tulsa and others. Collins took official visits to Kansas and Missouri. Collins is a three-star defensive tackle according to and is listed as the No. 57 defensive tackle in the nation.

In 2012, Collins recorded 102 tackles, 15 sacks, and 84 pancake blocks as an offensive lineman for Center senior high school.
