Carter set to see Lincoln

Nebraska definitely seems interested in getting at least one more tight end in the 2013 class. There has clearly been an interest to bring an junior college tight end, but Nebraska has extended an offer to a high school tight end to possibly join Greg Hart in the 2013 class.

Nebraska has entered the picture for Cethan Carter. Carter, a tight end/fullback from Metaire (La.) Archbishop Rummel. The Huskers extended an offer to Carter in December right before the holiday break.

"I picked my offer from Nebraska right before Christmas break," Carter said. "Nebraska and everyone likes me at tight end. I played both fullback and tight end this year, but getting looked at to play tight end."

The Nebraska offer was added to a steadily growing list of offers. The list of offers has continued to grow since Carter's season ended. Carter had a solid senior season.

"I have an offer from LSU, Nebraska, Southern, Louisiana - Lafayette, FIU, Southern Miss and Memphis right now. The list has really started to grow recently after my senior season.

"I had 25 receptions for over 400 yards receiving with six receiving touchdowns. I was all-district and all-state honorable mention."

Carter says that he can do it all at tight end; block, catch and run after the catch. Carter says that he's also comfortable lining up tight to the line, flexed out or in the backfield.

"I think that I am pretty balanced as a tight end. I can catch the ball and I can block. I think that also after I catch the ball that I can make plays."

Carter has a very good combination of size and speed. "I am 6-foot-4 and 235-pounds and I my best 40-time is a 4.6," Carter said.

Carter is getting to take a number of official visits in the month of January. On the official visits Carter says that he's looking to feel comfortable at all of the schools he visits and wants to look at the program for his major.

"I am going to go where I feel the most comfortable. I am going to study criminal justice so I want to look into that. I would like to go on and work for the FBI."

Carter hasn't taken an official visit yet and says that his first visit will be this weekend. He will take three consecutive trips on the final three weekends of the month of January.

"I haven't taken any official visits yet. I have set up visits to Nebraska on the 11th, ULL on the 18th and LSU on the 25th."

Carter is from Louisiana and holds an LSU offer. It's not a surprise that he says he grew up a Tiger fan. Carter says that he's also interested in staying close to home, but will go where he feels the most comfortable.

"I grew up watching LSU. I would like to stay close to home and not go too far away. But, I am going to go where I am most comfortable wherever it is."
