"Coach Demetrice Martin at UCLA hit me up on my email over the weekend and he told me to call him, so I gave him a call and he told me he wants me to be a Bruin and he offered me," said Pickett. "He got a chance to see me when I came to their game against Stanford and then he saw my highlight film and he loved it and offered me."
Pickett also had UCLA coach Angus McClure stop by the school this week.
"Coach McClure was the one who first started recruiting me to UCLA and they came to see one of our games this season, and UCLA is a really good school so that's a big offer for me," said Pickett.
Pickett had gotten a chance to swing by the UCLA campus when he was down in November, but plans to return next month.
"We went to the game at the Rose Bowl, but then we drove around the campus a little bit and I got a little glimpse of the campus," said Pickett. "We're going back down in February for their Junior Day."
It now gives Pickett three of the same offers that his teammate and close friend D.J. Calhoun has.
"Me and D.J. both had offers from Utah, Arizona State and now UCLA and I think that's what's cool," said Pickett. "We may have a chance to play together in college."
Michigan could be the next school to offer, the Wolverine coaching staff coming this week to the El Cerrito campus.
"Michigan is coming up and we're really excited about that because they've been talking to us and have a lot of interest in us," said Pickett. "Hopefully they offer us too."
The Scout 300 prospect is in no real rush to make a college decision at this point.
"As of right now, I want to see which schools get more involved and look into them and see which schools I like the most," said Pickett. "A lot of schools have a lot of interest in us, but I want to see what happens in the next couple of months."
Pickett said UCLA is the only Junior Day he's got on the docket, but is planning to hit several more.
"I've been talking a lot with the coaches from Cal, they offered me when Coach (Jeff) Tedford was there, but the new coaches are talking with me so I'll probably be going there and then there are some more schools that I've talked with that I may go check out," said Pickett.
Academically, Pickett has a 4.0 heading into his spring semester.
