'15 RB checks out Nebraska

There seems to be a pretty decent crop of in-state players in Nebraska for 2014, but it never hurts to look a little further down the road to 2015. Nebraska had one '15 recruit in attendance today.

There is some good reason to be looking down the road a little bit for Nebraska fans. The 2015 crop of in-state prospects will likely be led by Calvin Strong, a standout running back from Omaha (Nebr.) North. Strong was in Lincoln today for their invite only junior day.

"It was a more amazing experience today than the other times I have been there," Strong said. "Those other times I have been there it was about me seeing Nebraska and getting to know them. Today was about them getting to know me."

It was a junior day and Strong is just a sophomore. It was an honor to him to get the invite. It was even more special considering he was the only 2015 recruit in attendance.

"I was the only 2015 recruit there. It was pretty special to get the invite to junior day considering I am just a sophomore."

There was a lot of time for the recruits today to talk with the position coaches. Strong found out that while Nebraska wants to win on the football field that they also want their players to win off of the field too.

"We talked about everything. What they expect of their players on and off the field. We also talked about how important academics are with the staff and being part of the team."

Getting a Nebraska offer might be a year away, but it's something that Strong is definitely shooting for. He says that it's very important to him to get that offer from the Huskers.

"It would be really important to me to get that offer from Nebraska. My family and all of my friends would be able to go to the games and see me and I would be close to them."
