Huskers host Harrison

There were only a handful of players in Lincoln this weekend that were holding a Nebraska offer and Monte Harrison was one of them. The highly touted, multi-sport athlete was impressed with what he saw in Nebraska.

Lee's Summit (Mo.) West wide receiver Monte Harrison took a trip to see Nebraska this weekend. This highly touted prospect came away impressed by what he saw while he was in Lincoln.

"It went good," Harrison said. "I had a good time on the visit. I got a chance to see everything while I was there and meet with the coaches. I spent the most time with Coach John Garrison and Coach Rich Fisher. They're real cool."

The first thing that the players did was get measured and after that the visit really began. Harrison said that he liked all of the people associated with the program, the campus and all of the facilities.

"I measured in at 6-foot-2 and 190-pounds. I really liked all of the people there and I liked what I saw of the campus. The facilities were all really nice and are probably some of the best that I have seen."

The trip to Lincoln this weekend was the first for Harrison. He had heard stories about what to expect and how nice it would be. Despite hearing those stories the experience really blew away any expectations.

"This was my first trip to see Nebraska and the trip really went beyond what I was expecting to see," Harrison said. "People told me that it was going to be nice, but it was really impressive."

Harrison is a multi-sport athlete and may very well be a possible top draft pick in next year's Major League Baseball draft. On top of being a top collegiate football prospect some feel that Harrison could also play basketball in college as well.

"I definitely favor football and basketball of all the sports I play. I am thinking about playing multiple sports in college. I am going to be weighing my professional baseball and my college football and baseball possibilities."

Harrison was already holding a Nebraska offer coming into the weekend. It's the second offer for Harrison so far. "I picked up the Nebraska offer probably just a couple of weeks ago is all. It's my second offer. My first was from Missouri."
