"Recruiting has been going pretty well," Jackson said. "I'd say things are starting to pick up a little bit more lately."
And with that, several new schools have started talking to the talented junior.
One of those, Jackson paid a visit to Saturday for junior day -- Nebraska.
"It was a very good visit," Jackson said. "We talked to the coaches as well as some academic advisers and life skill teachers and we got to tour the campus and facilities."
Jackson was one of the only 2014 prospects from out of the Lincoln area at the junior day, but was glad he made the trek.
"Coach Garrison messaged me on Facebook and I decided that I'd go because I hadn't been out to a lot of colleges," Jackson said. "And I wanted to do that so I figured this would be a nice road trip out there."
Jackson plays running back and defensive back at Glenbard North and is getting recruited at both positions by the Huskers.
"They said they are very interested and will stay in touch in the next two months," Jackson said.
And over the next few months for Jackson he will plan other visits, and knows exactly what he is looking for.
"When I am looking at programs I look at the program overall and how we'll run it is," Jackson said. "Obviously the academic part of things but also how the university fits me socially as well as athletically."
