Picks up third offer

Omaha (Nebr.) Millard West defensive end Harrison Phillips is going to get his chance to play college football. There is some relief by having an offer to do that, but he's waiting on a big one to come.

Harrison Phillips from Omaha (Nebr.) Millard West just finished his junior wrestling season with an undefeated record and a state championship the other weekend. Now, it's back to football and Phillips picked up offer No. 3 today.

"I just pulled in another offer," Phillips reported. "I just got an offer from The University of Ohio."

Phillips is now sitting on offers from Ohio, South Dakota State and North Dakota. Getting that first offer from a MAC school was big. But, he's clearly waiting on an offer from the in-state school.

"I am honestly not sure if Nebraska is going to offer," Phillips said. "An offer from them would change things. I am working as hard as I can. I really don't know what else to do. I guess I just have to be patient."

What has been big, annually, for in-state players in picking up a Nebraska offer has been attending and performing well at Nebraska's summer camp. There is an obvious gauge of interest as well as a first-hand chance to work with the player. Phillips says that he plans on camping in Lincoln this summer.

Phillips joins Lincoln (Nebr.) Southeast safety, Luke Gifford, in picking up an offer from Ohio today.
