Henderson Talks Louisville Visit

Joseph Henderson is one of Ohio's more impressive athletes in the class of 2014, and the defensive end/linebacker is drawing plenty of recruiting attention. Henderson visited Louisville Saturday and liked what he saw.

Shaker Heights defensive end/linebacker Joseph Henderson was one of several top prospects in Louisville Saturday for junior day.

Henderson, 6-foot-4, 225-pounds, who was offered by the Cardinals earlier, enjoyed his first trip to Louisville to meet with head coach Charlie Strong.

"It was great meeting Coach Strong and the staff, and everything went really well," Henderson stated. "It was my first time to Louisville, and the facilities were excellent. It was a great experience and it was easy to see why they're having success down there."

"They emphasized how they view the team as a family, with everybody coming together as one and doing things the right way," he added. "They wanted to get to know my parents as well as me, and that was impressive. Coach Strong was cool, but I can see how he will set you straight in a minute if you're messing up."

"They really mentioned how the bowl win over Florida was just a start, and they are looking to build on that win," he continued. "We went to the basketball game, which was my first college hoops game, and the fans were great. I like everything about Louisville, but I told them I'm in no hurry to commit and they understood."

Even though Henderson plays defensive end for Shaker Heights, he is quick enough to play linebacker at the next level.

"In their system, they use what they call the FOX defensive end and that's where they see me," Henderson said. "They said I could have my hand down on one play, but be standing up and dropping into coverage the next play. I'm definitely going to consider Louisville strongly, and I'm hoping to get back there for the spring game."

Henderson also holds offers from the likes of Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Pittsburgh. He is scheduled to visit Indiana next weekend.
