Lineman looking at options

Offensive lineman Sam Mustipher has plenty of offers from schools throughout the country. Read on to see how he will approach the process, where Arizona stands, and more.

Rich Rodriguez is trying to use his northeast roots to lure in talented players, and one of those prospects is Olney (Md.) Our Lady of Good Council 2014 offensive lineman Sam Mustipher.

"I have a really good relationship with the coaches at Arizona," Mustipher said. "I've know them for quite awhile. Some were recruiting me at other schools.

"The coaches have been in contact with me and I know they're really interested. I got to check back in with them this week as a matter of fact."

In the meantime, Mustipher is working hard so he can excel next season and then make a quick impact at the college level.

"Right now I'm working out trying to get ready for next season," Mustipher said. "I'm hitting the weights hard with a personal trainer and I'm also putting in a lot of time working on hip flexibility and explosion off the line. Even though I'm not playing a sport, I'm working out as hard as anyone."

Mustipher has offers from schools such as Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and more. As of now, he is taking a wait and see approach with his recruitment.

"I would like to take all five visits, but I'm not sure if that will happen," Mustipher said. "I also wanted to make my decision before the start of my senior season, but I also don't know if that is practical.

"It's just so difficult to make an early decision with the amount of coaching changes that occur. The last thing I want to do is make a decision and then a coach leaves a short while after. I'm still not quite sure how I'm going to approach everything in my recruitment."
