"I just got an offer from Nebraska," Hood said. "They asked me to call them and they just offered me. I have been talking to Rick Kaczenski from Nebraska. He's my recruiting coach. He's the one that was here and saw me earlier this year."
Hines is a 6-foot-1 and 190-pound wide receiver from Charlotte (N.C.) Christian who was planning on visiting Nebraska before the offer came today. Now getting out to Nebraska in March is a certainty.
"It's definitely a big one. It's a big offer. I can't wait to get out there in March to visit. I will definitely be out there see Nebraska this spring."
Hines says that Nebraska likes him as a receiver, but admits that his size opens up some possibilities that he could get looks as an athlete. He likes how Nebraska uses their receiver, how they play all the spots, and says that he will do more research on Nebraska for sure.
"I know that they offered me as a receiver, but I think that I can be an athlete recruit for them too because of my size. I know how they use their receivers and run their offense. Their receivers play all the spots. I am going to do a lot more research on them now."
There could be a couple more offers this week for Hines and the attention continues to grow. Hines also said that a couple of other Big Ten teams called his coach this week inquiring about the standout wide receiver.
