Huskers extend offer

With spring practices just around the corner the Nebraska staff is busy evaluating and making offers to 2014 recruits. One of the few players that uncovered tonight who picked up a Nebraska offer today is this wide receiver from San Antonio (Texas) Madison.

San Antonio (Texas) Madison wide receiver Byron Daniels is getting ready for his senior season. The 6-foot-1 and 168-pound Daniels says that there are team and individual workouts leading up to spring practices in April.

"I am working out right now," Daniels said. "We start spring practices in April, but right now we are doing weight lifting, speed and agility. We are working out as a team and we have sessions to work out on our own."

As a senior Daniels says that he's ready to step up into a leadership role. He looks forward to being more vocal, but keeping his voice positive.

"I am looking forward to finding ways to help my team win. I want to accomplish everything that we haven't done as a team. I am looking forward to being a little more vocal as a senior. Keeping my team mates positive with my support."

Daniels had a solid junior season, taking the ball to the house just about every third or fourth touch, for Madison. The schools that are recruiting him see Daniels lining up potentially inside and outside at receiver.

"I had 47 receptions for 737 yards and 13 touchdowns," Daniels said. "Most teams like me as either the X or at the slot. I can play either one. I like to compete, step up and make plays for our team no matter which position I am playing."

Daniels picked up his third offer just a couple of hours ago to go along with the two that he already had. "I have three offers so far. I have offers from Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas Tech. I got the offer from Nebraska today. Not too long ago actually. Maybe just two hours ago."

Nebraska is a school that is going to get a serious look from Daniels. Daniels says that the Nebraska staff is talking about him coming up for a visit this spring and he says that he would like to make plans to see Lincoln.

"It's a good school and I like the fact that they aren't a school that's real close to Texas and they recognize the type of talent that I have. I really like how their offense is ran and I will really consider them."
