Anderson registered only four tackles last year, getting his first career start against Arkansas State in the Huskers' third game of the year.
A junior college transfer, Anderson stayed positive last year when he found out the news.
"I just have to try to get stronger and recover from this. I have to keep studying and try to learn the plays," he said at the time. "I have to get the system down the best I can even though I'm not playing, and come back here next year and be productive."
If healthy, Anderson figured to factor in at the weak-side linebacker spot.
