Howard Commits to Syracuse

Syracuse finally received their first commitment in the 2014 class, and they didn't have to go very far to get it. Local running back Naesean Howard verbally committed to the Orange on Saturday.

Syracuse has had a slow start to their 2014 class without a single commitment. However, that changed Saturday as local West Genesee (NY) RB Naesean Howard made his pledge during an unofficial visit.

Howard had named Syracuse as a favorite last season, but had not heard much from the new Orange staff after the coaching change in January. That changed as they invited the talented running back on campus. During the visit, Howard saw all he needed to see and made his verbal commitment.

Howard is the first commitment in Syracuse's 2014 class, and comes at a position of need as the Orange did not have a single running back prospect in their 2013 class.

Stay tuned to for more on Howard's commitment.
