"We are on spring break," Pendleton said. "I headed to Lincoln for an unofficial visit. I got a chance to take a tour of the football facilities, see the training table and check out the academic facilities."
One of the things that Pendleton was the most interested in doing today in Lincoln was meeting all of the other coaches on the Nebraska staff. Pendleton got to do that and also got to see how the Nebraska staff and the players behave behind the scenes.
"I met with all of the coaches. Before today I only knew Coach John Garrison and it was good to meet all of them especially Coach Barney Cotton. It was good to see how they interact with their players. It's a real family and you can't see that as much as you can on these visits."
The practice impressed Pendleton. He said that there was good intensity and was ran incredibly well by the Nebraska staff. "Practice was great. It was good to see. They practice with great intensity and it was just so smooth and efficient."
Nebraska has not offered Pendleton, but that time could be coming soon. There seems to be a couple of things that can happen to help out Pendleton's chances to get a Nebraska offer. He says the honesty of the Nebraska staff was good to hear.
"No, I don't have an offer and I didn't get one today, but they said that they are talking about it. They have their recruits rated. "A" guys are guys that have offers. "A-" guys are players they are close to offering.
"They said I was right at an "A-". They are right there and want to see more. The would like to get me up to camp to get a good look at me and would also like to get a chance to talk with my family. They said right now they are looking at taking 20 recruits in this class, but they might bump up that number and if they do I could get an offer that way too."
An offer from Nebraska would go a long way with Pendleton. Home state team, Missouri, has already stepped up and offered Pendleton, but he said that the Nebraska offer would change a lot.
"A Nebraska offer would be huge. It would be great to have an offer from a program like that and to know that they want to build their program with me as part of that. An offer would change a lot with what is going on right now."
Pendleton called the visit to Nebraska a great visit. He will be over to Columbia on Friday. Pendleton has already been to see a few schools already and he could have plans soon over the coming months to see a few more. "It was a great visit today at Nebraska. I am headed to Missouri this Friday and I have already been there before. I have seen Kansas and Kansas State already. I am going to be taking a lot more trips over the coming months. Schools like Oklahoma, Arkansas and Memphis all want me to visit their schools."
