Orlando NFTC: Top Underclassmen

Here are some top underclassmen from the Orlando NFTC like Frostproof (Fla.) 2016 signal caller Xavier Gaines.

QB Ryan Davis (St. Petersburg, Fla./Northeast)
This 2015 quarterback prospect is the younger brother of former FSU star receiver Chris Davis. Like Chris, Ryan is blessed with outstanding speed, quickness and overall athleticism. He would make a terrific slot receiver but wants to focus on being a signal caller. He can throw the ball well but needs to bulk up and get bigger.

QB De'Andre Johnson (Jacksonville, Fla./First Coast)
Johnson is athletically much like Davis only bigger. This Florida State commitment has a good and accurate arm as he continues to strengthen his game. Johnson does need to improve his release. On some throws it just takes too long to get out of his hand.

QB Xavier Gaines (Frostproof, Fla.)
This is a freshman quarterback who is a legit 6-3/210 and he has the arm you look for and he has great mobility. He needs to improve his mechanics.

WR George Campbell (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake)
Where will he play? That is the question. He is a long and rangy athlete who made a great grab in the pass skeleton, but he had a few drops too. He has so much raw talent. Campbell is considered one of the top 2015 prospects from Florida at this time.

WR Jonathan Thomas (Brooksville, Fla./Nature Coast)
Thomas is a big receiver in the 2015 class who uses his body well to shield defenders. He attacked the ball well with his hands Saturday.

WR Keith Gavin (Crawfordville, Fla./Wakulla)
Gavin is a specimen and someone who will likely draw a lot of attention. He is a little stiff, so he may not end up at wide receiver, but he will be a top recruit in 2016.

OT Martez Ivey (Apopka, Fla.)
Ivey has long arms, good feet, and a lot of upside. He needs to add upper-body strength and work his hands better, but a true left tackle prospect. Ivey already has some impressive scholarship offers.

LB Cecil Cherry (Frostproof, Fla.)
Cherry is a very strong inside linebacker who has that raw power and good instincts. He's a member of the class of 2016.

LB Shaq Quarterman (Orlando, Fla./Oakleaf)
Quarterman is only a freshman and he showed solid lateral movement and athleticism in this camp. He is a big body that could grow into a player putting his hand down, but right now, he is a strong inside backer.

DE Jordan Woods (Ocala, Fla./Trinity Catholic)
Woods may be in the class of 2016 but he doesn't look it. He looks more than ready for the next level. Woods already has outstanding size and looks great on the hoof. He's long and athletic.

DB Derwin James (Auburndale, Fla.) Elite athlete who can run. He could be a big safety or grow into an outside linebacker on the next level. He showed good ball skills and the ability to change direction Saturday.

CB Von Davis (Mount Dora, Fla.)
This is an athletic cornerback prospect in the 2015 class. For his size he's athletic, smooth and fluid in his back pedal.
