Nebraska impresses Sorrell

There is another week until the spring game giving the Nebraska staff some opportunities to bring in some unofficial visitors. Today the Husker staff brought in this Ohio tight end and have moved to the top of his list.

At 6-foot-6 and 250-pounds Chance Sorrell stood out today at practice. The tight end from Middleton (Ohio) was just leaving the Nebraska campus when he caught up with BigRedReport.com to talk about his trip.

"I am just leaving," Sorrell said. "I just left the offices about 10 minutes ago. We got there about 1:30 this afternoon. Practice started at 3:40 I think.

"We got a tour of the facilities, didn't get to see too much of the campus, but then we stayed to watch their practice and then spoke with Coach Barney Cotton for about two hours following practice. We watched some film on some tight ends."

Nebraska impressed Sorrell to say the least. The Huskers have moved toward the top of his list based on what he saw on his visit today. Sorrell and his family liked what they saw today at the spring practice.

"I liked it a lot. It's definitely one of the top schools for me now. It was a great visit. Practice went really well. We liked how the coaches coached and how the players kept other players accountable for mistakes and stuff like that.

"The coaches were encouraging the players and were enthusiastic. If they had to get on you they were quick to get back to you and make sure that you understood and how to correct things. We really enjoyed the whole day."

Sorrell came to Lincoln today without an offer and left without an offer too. But, the Nebraska staff was very upfront with Sorrell about what they are looking for and what could help him pick up an offer over the coming months.

"I did not pick up an offer, but they said that they were very interested. They said that they would like to get me back for camp or hopefully before that for another visit. They said that they were very interested and they are looking for a true "Y" tight end and that is what I am looking for in a school."

One thing is for sure and that is Sorrell will be making it back to Nebraska. The only questions are when and really how many times over the coming months? Sorrell says that he might come back for an unofficial visit in the coming months and then again in the summer for camp.

"I would probably like to get back in the next couple of months. If I couldn't do that then I would come back for their camp, if that's what it takes, to pick up an offer. We really enjoyed everything we saw today.

"The biggest and the best thing that we saw today was the culture fit. We really enjoyed all of the coaches that we talked to today and I really liked Coach Cotton and Coach Bo Pelini and how they all coaches. I was really happy that we got to come up for the practice."
