Lasley excited by San Diego State offer

Gardena (Calif.) Serra now has seven players with a scholarship offer as athlete Jordan Lasley landed offer No. 1 on Wednesday from San Diego State.

Serra is loaded in the class of 2014 and 2015 and Jordan Lasley has been flying a bit under the radar, overshadowed by some of his teammates. He's a very talented player in his own right and has the ability to play three positions in college.

He was rated among the top three receivers at the SoCal NIKE Camp, looked very good at corner at the IMG 7 on 7 tournament two weeks ago and could be an elite safety at the next level as well.

"Man I can't believe it," Lasley said. "San Diego State offered me as an athlete and feel I can play receiver or safety. They talked to Coach Altenberg and said they liked me as athlete but it was the receiver coach who called so we'll see, I'm open to either side.

"I've always played receiver so corner comes pretty easily because I can recognize a receivers routes. I like San Diego State and definitely plan to visit. I've actually already been there once. We had a track meet there two or three weeks ago so I got to check out the campus a little. It's a nice place and I'm definitely excited about the offer."

In addition to the Aztecs, Lasley said he's also hearing from Colorado, UCLA and Washington State and plans to camp with the Bruins and USC in the summer.
