Solid spring game experience in Lincoln

Monte Harrison has been to Nebraska before. This weekend though it was the annual Red-White game which provided a different opportunity than he has had before in Lincoln. What were his thoughts?

Monte Harrison, from Lee's Summit (Mo.) West, is a 6-foot-2 and 190-pound wide receiver who is also an outstanding baseball prospect. Harrison is holding a Nebraska football offer and traveled to Lincoln this weekend to see their spring game.

"It was a pretty great trip," Harrison said. "We got there a little before the game started. I got a chance to speak to some of the 2013 recruits that Nebraska signed last year."

The thing about a spring game is you aren't too sure what to make of some parts of it. Harrison said that he saw enough to determine that he could see himself fitting in at Nebraska if he knew what position he knew Nebraska wanted him to play.

"I think that I could see myself filling in there at Nebraska possibly depending on which position they want me to play," Harrison said. "The game was a good performance, but Taylor Martinez didn't play a lot.

"Nebraska is recruiting me as an athlete. They like me either as a defensive back or as a wide receiver. Wide receiver would be my preference. I could see myself fitting in at Nebraska in their offense."

The spring game in Lincoln was really the last trip that Harrison has planned at this point. He is gearing up for a summer that will be out on the baseball field. "I don't have any other visit plans right now. I am really just getting ready for summer baseball right now and all of the traveling that comes with that."
