Big 10 School High On Jones

FOX Sports NEXT has the update on South Oak Cliff safety Jyaz Jones from Dallas, Texas. He showed well at the Dallas Nike Football Training Camp. He already has offers in hand, but one program has been showing much more interest than the others.

It's still early in the recruiting process, but Dallas (TX) South Oak Cliff defensive back Jyaz Jones is pretty clear on one thing. While he has a number of schools that are showing interest and holds a few offers, one program has made it known that he is high on the list.

"Right now the program that is looking at me the most is Iowa. My brother (Anjeus Jones) committed there not long ago," Jones said.

Though the Hawkeyes are keeping close tabs on the talented safety, Colorado State and New Mexico State have also offered the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Jones. So far, he has made a couple of trips to check out a couple of Big 12 Conference programs.

"I made it to Baylor and Texas already and I plan to go to Iowa and Oklahoma State junior days," Jones said.

Jones said that most of the schools are recruiting him to play safety and that his coverage skills and speed are two of the primary reasons for their interest in him. At the Dallas Nike Football Training Camp, Jones was good in his coverages and overall had a solid day.
