Huskers stop by to see Hirschfeld

The Nebraska staff has been all over the map already this week. The Husker staff made their way to Wisconsin today to check in on Billy Hirschfeld from Hartland (Wisc.) Arrowhead just two weeks after the big defensive end was in Lincoln for the Nebraska spring game.

Billy Hirschfeld from Hartland (Wisc.) Arrowhead has been to see Nebraska few times. Most recently Hirschfeld was in Lincoln for the Nebraska spring game. Today that Nebraska staff returned the favor and were by to see him at his school.

"Nebraska was at my school today," Hirschfeld said. "Coach Barney Cotton from Nebraska was there."

There are strict rules about contact and dialogue during the evaluation period between a coach and a recruit in person. Hirschfeld said that he was only able to say hello when he saw Coach Cotton.

"You can't really talk to the coach in person and I haven't had the time to call him tonight yet. I did tell him hello."

The Nebraska coach was in to see Hirschfeld around lunchtime and was unable to see Billy workout. "He was there during school, actually during or right after lunch, and I just said hi. That was it. I think that he spoke with my coaches too."

The Nebraska staff is the first to stop by and see Hirschfeld. While Hirschfeld admits that a lot of teams are showing strong interest in him the fact that Nebraska was first shows they want him 'a little more' than the others might.

"Nebraska has been the only school to come and see me so far. It definitely shows that they really want me to come to Nebraska. I am not saying other schools don't want me, but Nebraska is showing they want me a little more."

Hirschfeld will be just a couple of weeks removed from checking out Nebraska's spring game. This weekend he will be in Madison to see another spring game. "I am supposed to be going to the Wisconsin spring game this weekend."
