Two big new offers for Anderson

Auston Anderson is a player that is really shooting up some teams' lists. Anderson is a speed back from Plano (Texas) West who plans on making a decision by the end of June more than likely which puts everything on a tight timetable.

Auston Anderson took the time from a track meet, and a first place finish for the Plano (Texas) West 4x100m relay team, to talk about the evaluation period. Anderson has had a big week picking up a couple of very nice offers.

"The evaluation period is going pretty good," Anderson said. "I got two new offers this week. I got offers from Texas and from Nebraska. Those two makes a total of 14 for me."

Although there are a double-digit offer total in-hand for Anderson there is no pressure right now to make a commitment. That will change soon though with a desire by family to commit this summer.

"I am really waiting things out and riding the wave for now. My parents want me to make a decision this summer, sometime in June, but for now I am just taking it all in."

When you ask Anderson what he does well on the football field it all comes back to speed. Anderson claims a 10.95 laser timed personal best 100m time. Anderson says that he can plant a leg, make a cut and accelerate quickly with the football.

"I am more of a speed guy out of the backfield. I am a scat back that can get the ball, make a cut and get to the highest gear quickly."

Anderson has gotten out to see a few schools this spring and he has another visit coming this weekend. There are a number of other schools that Anderson would like to see before making a decision.

"I have been to Tulsa, Baylor, Northwestern and Rice so far this spring. I am going to Texas Tech this weekend and want to visit Texas soon. I also want to make a west coast swing and see some schools there. I might also visit Nebraska."
