Nebraska's trip to see Smith delayed

The nation's No. 38 quarterback will get a visit from Nebraska offensive coordinator Tim Beck this week.

The nation's No. 38 rated quarterback, Travis Smith of Ithaca high school (MI), was supposed to be visited by Nebraska offensive coordinator Tim Beck on Friday - the visit was rescheduled.

"His plane had some problems, so he couldn't make it up this way," said Smith. "He's now going to come sometime this week."

Smith, who visited Lincoln in late March, has a list of offers including: Central Michigan, Kent State, Ohio, Old Dominion, Toledo, and Western Michigan.

Multiple people close to the quarterback feel he could be on the verge of getting an offer from Nebraska.

Smith has been selected to the all-state team two times and is a three-time state champion with Ithaca. As a junior, he had 3,278 passing yards with 23 touchdowns and three interceptions.
