Stick gets first D-1 offer

Easton Stick's wait for a first D-1 offer is over.

Creighton Prep quarterback Easton Stick's wait for his first Division I offer is over.

"I got an offer from Akron tonight," said Stick in a message to Big Red Report on Friday. The soon to be senior already had an offer from South Dakota.

"It was kind of a surprise because I had talked to them a few days earlier and they had wanted me to come to camp before they offered, so when they said they were offering me, it was a really good surprise."

Stick, who is 6-foot-2, and 204-pounds, threw for 2,150 yards and 17 touchdowns, to just three interceptions in 2012. He also rushed for 515 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Recently at the Nebraska Top 50 combine, Stick took home top honors in the broad jump with a 10'2", showing he's quite athletic as well to being a signal-caller.

"I will be at Iowa State's camp this Sunday and Iowa next week," said Stick in a message to Big Red Report. "After that I don't have it all planned out yet. I know that I will go to North Dakota, South Dakota State, and North Dakota State - along with Kansas State, and then maybe Indiana and Wisconsin."

Stick told Big Red Report in early May he would be attending Nebraska's camp as well in hopes of earning an offer by impressing Nebraska offensive coordinator Tim Beck.
