"I will be taking a couple of visits soon," Ballage said. "I will also be in the weight room a lot this summer trying to get better.
"I don't necessarily want to try and get better at just one thing. I need to work to try and get better at everything that I need to be successful."
The trips will start this week for Ballage with him heading north tomorrow morning to start a run on seeing some Big Ten schools. After that there are plans to see a number of other schools before the end of the summer.
"I am going to Michigan tomorrow morning. I will go to Michigan State and Nebraska after that. I will be in Lincoln for Big Red Weekend. After that I am pretty sure I will visit Ohio State, Boise State and Iowa."
There is a wide range of positions that schools say that they could see Ballage playing at the next level. Lately he says that he's been thinking that he's best suited to play on the offensive side of the football in college.
"Some schools actually want me to play linebacker in college. Other schools say that they want me just to play running back. Then there are other schools that are telling me that they will leave it up to me.
"I have been thinking about it a lot lately and I am thinking that I am better off on the offensive side of the football in college. Like a player that can come in and take a snap at running back and then play at wide receiver."
The trip to Lincoln to see what the Huskers have to offer will be the first for Ballage. He says that he's heard a lot about what Nebraska has to offer in terms of facilities and he's looking forward to meeting all of the coaches he's spoken with from Nebraska in person.
"I have never been to Nebraska before," Ballage said. "I am looking forward to seeing their facilities because I have heard that they are nice. Coach Barney Cotton is my recruiting coach, but I have spoken with Coach Ron Brown and and Coach Bo Pelini before in the past."
