Lewis Looking to a Summer Decision

Georgia Tech was one of the first schools to offer Ocoee, Florida linebacker Terrell Lewis. This past weekend Lewis made a return visit to campus to meet with his recruiting coach, Lamar Owens.

"I think it was a very good trip." Lewis viewed the trip as a chance to get up to date with what Tech has to offer and to see how he would fit on the team. "I love Georgia Tech a lot. I mean they were one of the very first schools to offer me." Lewis feels there is nothing to dislike about Tech.

Coach Owens gave Lewis a tour of the campus and met with him to talk about how recruiting has changed over the past year. "A lot of schools had players jump ship late."

The two also talked about his style of play and how he takes care of business on the field and in the classroom. "He really wanted me to pull the trigger." Tech is looking at more recruits for each position this year than they have in the past. "He said I was one they wanted but they would be looking at other players. I fully understand how the process works and do not hold that against him or Georgia Tech."

There were rumors that Lewis might commit on his visit. "I gave it some serious thought. One of the player visiting while I was there committed. It was something on my mind but in the end I didn't."

Lewis felt he owed it to himself to visit other schools and then narrow down his list. Lewis also gave thought to the recruits last year that committed and then changed their mind. "I'm not going to be one of those recruits." LSU, Miami, Central Florida, South Florida, and Nebraska will be the schools getting visits.

Following the visits, Lewis will trim his list to a top five or possibly a top three. "I will make my decision sometime during the summer."
