Cali. DE wants to see Nebraska

The defensive end position is an important part of the 2014 class for Nebraska. One of the top players on Nebraska's board at that spot seems to be Matt Dickerson.

Matt Dickerson is a 6-foot-5 and 270-pound defensive end from San Mateo (Calif.) Junipero Serra. He says that he and his team have been working out a lot this summer including a camp that took them to see a PAC 12 team. Before the summer is over Dickerson says that he wants to take some more visits.

"I am doing a lot of football with the team," Dickerson said. "I went to the Colorado camp with my high school team and that was fun. I am going to the Washington camp for four days or so. I will also be doing some other unofficial visits."

Dickerson plans on taking some big trips to see some of the nation's top programs this summer. The plan for Dickerson is to see these schools as soon as possible so he can possibly make a commitment before the end of the summer. It might not be practical to make all of the trips without a couple of them becoming official visits though.

"I am trying to get to USC, Nebraska, Oregon, Arkansas, Notre Dame and really just try to visit all of the schools that I can. I want to have a good idea where I want to go very soon. I want to commit before the season, but if it goes into the season then that is OK."

One of the great things about Dickerson is that you have a player that can line up at a number of spots along a defensive line. He says that he loves the opportunity to beat the double-team and says that his motor is one of his best qualities playing off of the edge.

"I am playing anywhere from the 5 to the 4i on our defensive line. I am versatile along the defensive line. I feel very comfortable at the 5 spot. I love the 5 because I love beating the double team and I have an endless motor."

The Huskers have made a strong push for Dickerson this point and if Dickerson has his choice he would go to Lincoln this summer for a visit. He says that he likes the program, how much they are on television and that they also have great academics.

"I love how Nebraska is a great program and that they are always on T.V.," Dickerson said. "I want to go to a school on the national landscape. Nebraska is also a great school academics-wise."
