Huskers could have official visitor this week

The first official visitor for Nebraska could happen as early as next weekend. This top junior college defensive tackle is leaning towards visiting Lincoln over another school he's already seen.

Fort Scott (Kans.) C.C. defensive tackle Abu Lamin is just a couple of weeks away from the start of fall camp. It's always a bit of a struggle to get back into the routine when camp comes, but he's excited about the upcoming year and says that it will all be easier after a couple of days into camp.

"Going to be back out there in a couple of weeks," Lamin said. "Biggest thing is just getting into a rhythm again. Everything else just takes care of itself. After the first couple days of practices it's like riding a bike or laying in bed."

The summer has been filled with workouts that Lamin has gone out of his way to get in. First, he was working out with a trainer in the month of June focusing on quickness. Second, he says that he just wrapped up a mini-camp style session with some of the freshman at Fort Scott going Monday to Friday.

"I just got done working out with some of the freshman and doing a little summer camp. We were doing conditioning on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and on Tuesdays and Thursdays we were lifting. I also worked out with a personal trainer in June focused on my feet, quickness and my hips. I have seen the difference and am very happy with the results."

The summer has also been filled with official visits. Lamin has taken three official visits so far and says that his fourth will be this weekend. He just doesn't know which school he will be visiting this weekend. There are two that he's considering and in his mind they are really duking it out to get a chance to host him.

"I have taken three official visits so far this summer. I have been to Florida, South Carolina and Arkansas already. I am trying to get another official visit in next weekend and right now it's between Nebraska and Auburn. They are both trying to get me to visit next weekend. It's a real dogfight."

If there is a school that has an edge when it comes to his fourth official visit it might be Nebraska. Lamin has been to Auburn before and he's never seen Nebraska. He also said that he's been in very regular contact with the defensive line coach at Nebraska.

"I am learning towards visiting Nebraska next weekend. I have been to Auburn before. I was there in June when they were having their camp. I also haven't been to Nebraska and I have been in contact a lot with Coach Rick Kaczenski from Nebraska. I will know what I am going to do by Monday or Tuesday. Definitely by Tuesday."
