BRR 2013 Profile: Quincy Enunwa

It appears the Nebraska coaching staff has an idea to use senior wide receiver Quincy Enunwa a little differently this season.

Quincy Enunwa Profile

"It's like he grows five pounds every year. He's getting bigger and bigger." - Bo Pelini

Position: Wide Receiver

Height/Weight: 6-foot-2, 225 pounds

Year: Senior

High School: Moreno Valley, CA

2012 Review:

One of the nation's most experienced receivers, Enunwa enters his senior season with 37 appearances and 21 career starts. The California product was second on the team in receptions last season and had at least one catch in all 14 games.

He also was a big part of the Huskers running attack, providing key blocks on the outside. Enunwa likes to show his physicality when ever he can.

2013 Outlook:

With Enunwa's skill set and chemistry with four-year starting quarterback Taylor Martinez, the senior could be in for a big year. Judging by recent comments from Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini, Enunwa will be a bigger part of the offense in 2013.

"With his size, it's a nice problem to have. He presents us with a lot of versatility. We haven't necessarily used him in those type of roles in the past – we will this year," said Pelini at Big Ten Media Days. "You put a small defensive back on Quincy, he's going to toss them around a bit - he's a problem. If you put him inside, and they put a linebacker on him, you have your problems to because most linebackers won't be able to run with him."

A captain on this year's squad, Enunwa is proud of the opportunity he's been given by Pelini.

"I have been just working my butt off and the coaches have seen it," said Enunwa. "I realized what all the guys before me did to get where they are at now – not only on our team but on other teams. I just have tried to emulate that. I have tried to show guys, this is what you need to do."

How he ended up in Lincoln:

A star two-sport athlete in high school (high jump – track), Enunwa caught 40 balls his senior season for 600 yards, helping Rancho Verde go 11-1 in the process. He was awarded first-team All-Inland Valley League honors. A two-star prospect and the No. 175 wide receiver in the 2010 class, Enunwa also had an offer from Washington State out of high school.
