John Bonney Checks Out Oklahoma State

One of the top safety prospects in the nation was at Oklahoma State's practice on Saturday. Houston Lamar standout John Bonney made the trip to Stillwater with his family, including his father Jerry, who played basketball at the University of Houston.

The 6-0 1/2, 180-pound John Bonney was recently showcasing his skills at Nike's The Opening, and is considered a physical safety that has good pass coverage skills. He had three interceptions last season and a number of big hits.

As for his recruiting, he has stayed open and recently visited UCLA. He has also hit a couple of camps including LSU.

Oklahoma State's Van Malone is recruiting Bonney and his offer list is very strong including Auburn, Baylor, California, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, OU, SMU, Texas, TCU, Texas Tech, UCLA, Utah, among others.

As you would expect, Bonney and his father spent a lot of time down on the east end of the practice field watching the back end of the defense drill during the Saturday morning practice.
