"We don't start school until the 26th, but we started practice on Monday," Kalu said. "We start practice in pads tomorrow after doing an acclimation period. They have been some long days, long practices, and it was hot here until today."
A lot of programs peak, but at Taylor there is always a lot of talent and talk about making a run at a state title every year. Kalu says that is what they expect and he says that there is enough talent to do it this year.
"A lot of programs have big dream and I want to see ours through. We have a lot of talent this year. We feel like we can make it into the championship picture. Every year we have those thoughts and those goals. That's what we play for every year at Taylor."
The three-star prospect says that he has set up plans for one official visit already. The No. 78 safety in the nation says that he plans to finally see a school that he planned on visiting back in June.
"I will take at least one official visit during the the season," Kalu said. "I have an official visit set to see Nebraska on September 7th when they play Southern Miss. I wanted to visit Nebraska in June for Big Red Weekend, but my plans fell through.
"I am really looking forward to this visit. I want to see the facilities at Nebraska, how I fit in with the coaches and see the position that they want me to play in their defense. They told me that they see me at the nickel and I think that I am a good fit for the position."
