"We can really spread it out and show kids some good attention by not bringing a ton in for every single early game like we used to do," said Els. "I like where we are, sort of like I said before Big Red Weekend, we are really high on a lot of good player's lists, but now it's about getting them on campus, getting them to say yes, and I think we will be pretty good shape."
Nebraska currently sits at 11 commits in the class and projects to take 23 to 24 before it's all said and done.
The Huskers biggest non-conference game of the year is UCLA, but with a 11 a.m. start, the weekend visitor list will likely be a smaller one.
"That would be a really good game to get them in to, but you look at Wyoming – it's the opening game of the season, it's a night game, a new stadium, a beautiful view of the new arena and the Haymarket," said Els. "The marquee game the media wants to talk about is the UCLA game, but we just need to get them here. Whenever it is, it's fine.
"These official visits are more and more based on when the kids have Thursday night games. A lot of recruits play on Thursday night games and that's perfect for us. We would rather have them maybe come in for a less popular game if they can spend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with us, then getting them in and rushing them out during the marquee game."
