Quick Hitter: Love could be heading for RS

LINCOLN, Neb. - True freshman linebacker Courtney Love enrolled early to Nebraska, in hopes he would be able to find the field quicker than usual.

With a solid spring under his belt, it looked like Love could be headed in that direction, but an undisclosed injury in camp hobbled him for a few practices.

While he's back in uniform on the practice field at the moment, his time out might have caused him to miss out on an opportunity for 2013.

"We'll see how it plays out, but I would've said no. I think Courtney is going to be a heck of a player for us down the line. He's just missed so much time," said Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini, when asked if Love would be redshirting this season. "We're probably going to play against a number of spread teams here early. We're going to do the right thing by him, but that's probably where it's heading right now."

Last week, linebacker coach Ross Els told Big Red Report Love was practicing at the BUCK linebacker spot, but had limited work in the nickel because of his injury.
