"We are on the road back to Jefferson City," Hentges said late Saturday night. "My first time visiting Lincoln was during Big Red Weekend this spring. This was my first game there at Nebraska.
"I was kind of surprised at how many fans are actually there in the stadium during a game. I have heard about the sellout streak and how incredibly loyal the fans are."
Hentges has seen the facilities, more specifically the stadium, before the improvements were complete in June. Hentges liked seeing the final product and really liked the tunnel walk before the start of the game.
"The renovations that they made to the east stadium are very impressive. Those weren't done when I saw it this spring. The tunnel walk was also very cool. I could hear all of the fans chanting as we were walking out."
The Nebraska team looked dominant at times last night and worthy of their ranking. Hentges noted that the opponent was better than expected and also saw a number of younger players working on the defense last night.
"I did think that the Nebraska defensive line got some good pressure. The Wyoming offensive line was good, their quarterback is very good and the Nebraska defensive line has a lot of young players and they are trying to hold their own."
Getting back to Lincoln again this fall could be a plan. However, Hentges noted that his Helias team plays a lot on Saturdays which will make it tough and he also has some plans to see a few other schools too.
"I might be able to make it back to Nebraska this fall if I have some time. I actually play a lot of my games on Saturdays. I am going to go to Missouri for a couple of games and then I will visit Arkansas and Wisconsin."
Nebraska made quite an impression on Hentges this weekend. He had some ideas of what he would see while he was there, but what he did see went beyond the expectations.
"Overall it was really good. I expected a lot about this visit and I was really impressed with everything like the renovations and talking to the coaches."
