"I can't really put it into words. It's kind of a dream come true," said Banderas. "I wasn't really nervous, I wasn't really any emotion, I was just happy all the way around...As much as I got in, I can't complain. I played more than I expected. To get on the field as a true freshman was all I could ask for."
Banderas, who finds himself in a battle with David Santos for the MIKE linebacker spot according to Bo Pelini, wasn't for sure on the exact number of snaps he received Saturday night, but it was spread out during the contest.
"He got a couple of snaps early and then he got a lot of snaps later on, but it shows our confidence in him," said Pelini. "When the game kind of started to get on the line there, we weren't afraid to put him in there, and I think he did a good job. He is going to be good. Josh will be a good player."
